Privacy Policy

Latest version 1st April 2018.

Information Collected in Person. The primary purpose for collecting personally identifiable information is to provide a service to my clients. For example, I need to be able to process bookings and provide email confirmation; to post gift vouchers to individual addresses; and to take down an accurate health history from each client to help me assess client health needs and ensure that massage will not aggravate any pre-existing conditions. This information is essential to comply with professional code of conduct and ethics set out by the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council and Scottish Massage Therapists Organisation, and also for insurance purposes. All such information is treated as confidential, stored securely, and will not be disclosed to third parties without the written confirmation of the client. I do not store any client health information electronically. Consultation forms are all stored in a locked filing cabinet. It is standard industry practice to store client records for a minimum of seven years (in a minor's case this would be 7 years after they attain maturity), after which time they will be securely destroyed.

In response to customer feedback I have enabled online bookings on my website. My online bookings are processed by Setmore, which means that my clients will receive appointment-specific communications from Setmore. This may include booking and cancellation confirmations and appointment reminders via email. This means you will have to provide your name and contact details to make the appointment. No payment transactions are made at the time of booking so no payment details will be required. You are not required to register with Setmore to use this service. The Setmore platform retains some stats about clients, such as number of appointments and also holds records of contact details. If you would like your client details to be deleted from this platform then simply email me with this request.

You have the option on this website to subscribe to the Loch Ewe Holistics mailing list. I use this to periodically inform subscribers about new treatments and special offers. You are free to unsubscribe at any time. Simply click the "unsubscribe" link at the bottom of the email. Your details will not be shared with any third parties. My mailing list is handled by MailChimp, and you can view its privacy policy here.

Card payments are processed by SumUp, whose privacy policy regarding cardholder data security can be viewed here under section 6.

Clients have a right to see what personally identifiable information of theirs is held by Loch Ewe Holistics. I will endeavor to respond promptly to such requests but you may need to be able to confirm your identity. Clients may also request that incorrect or out of date information is updated.

This cookies policy applies to the Loch Ewe Holistics website - www.locheweholistics.co.uk. This website does not collect any personally identifiable data from its users. You are free to browse this site without submitting any contact or payment details. It does, however, use tracking cookies to help me understand how visitors find my site, which pages are being viewed, how much time is spent on the site, and what percentage of visitors are returning versus new. This helps me understand where the site is under performing so that I can make improvements and at the same time improve the user experience.

The tool I use
The reporting tool that I use is Google Analytics. Google’s analytics tool “helps website and app owners to understand how their visitors engage with their properties. It may use a set of cookies to collect information and report website usage statistics without personally identifying individual visitors to Google. The main cookie used by Google Analytics is the ‘__ga’ cookie.”
You can read more at the Google Analytics Privacy Overview. Further information is available here: How Google uses data when you use our partners' sites or apps.

What is collected
I use Google Analytics to track the following data about visitors to my site:
  •  Referring and exit pages
  •  Page Engagements (if you download a pdf for example)
  •  Demographics – language, country, city
  •  System – Browser, operating system, service provider
  •  Mobile – Operating system, service provider, screen resolution
Google Analytics demographics and interest reporting is enabled on my platform. This data is collected through Google's advertising cookies and anonymous identifiers in addition to data collected through a standard Google Analytics implementation. This reporting feature provides me with additional information about my visitors, including age, gender and interest categories reports.

Your use of this site, in any and all forms, constitutes an acceptance of the use of tracking cookies.

Any users who would like to use the site but would like to opt out of cookie tracking are advised to download and install the Google Analytics opt out add-on (compatible with Chrome, Internet Explorer 8-11, Safari, Firefox and Opera). You can find it here.

This website allows the purchase of gift vouchers. All payments are handled by PayPal, whose privacy policy can be viewed here.

If you are unhappy about the privacy practices at Loch Ewe Holistics, you are very welcome to contact me with your issues. If, however, I am unable to satisfy your concerns you can contact the UK Information Commissioner.

This Privacy Policy is reviewed and revised from time to time. When it does change, the date of the latest version will too be updated.
