Optional green or herbal tea.
This treatment is a must for anyone looking to improve their complexion and reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles. It concentrates on the face, neck, shoulders and scalp, and soothes away tension while promoting suppleness and flexibility. This deeply relaxing treatment combines techniques from Japanese and Indian massage practices, acupressure, and facial reflexology to rejuvenate the skin and reduce signs of ageing. It is a natural alternative to other anti-ageing procedures such as botox, facial acupuncture, or surgery.
If it is your first visit you will be required to fill in a consultation form to make sure it is safe to proceed with the treatment. You will receive a relaxing scalp, neck and shoulder massage followed by facial reflexology and smoothing and lifting strokes. You will then receive your aftercare advice and will be offered a herbal tea to sit and enjoy by the sea view.
Anyone can enjoy this deeply relaxing treatment. Stress and worry both manifest in the facial expressions we pull every day, which can result in accumulated tension in our facial muscles. We can also spend a lot of time maintaining a "front" or putting on a brave face, which uses a lot of energy. Releasing this stress and allowing our faces to relax can be extremely therapeutic. As we age, our skin loses elasticity, and our faces can develop puffiness, lines and wrinkles. This treatment is a natural alternative to procedures such as botox, facial acupuncture, or surgery. Its benefits are accumulative, so the effects are more visible with repeat treatments. As well as its anti-ageing application, this treatment can promote overall health by relieving stress symptoms such as headaches and insomnia; relieving jaw pain and tension; and enhancing relaxation.
There are certain instances where it is inadvisable to have a massage, or where seeking your GPs permission before your appointment will be necessary. Please refer to the Contraindications page to see if any of your medical conditions fall within this group. This is essential to avoid disappointment at the time of your appointment as I will not be able to proceed with the treatment if you have a contraindicated condition and no written permission from your GP.
Facial massage will not be given in cases of severe sunburn, infectious conditions such as cold sores, impetigo, or conjunctivitis, or severe eczema or psoriasis.
If possible, please turn up to your treatment without make-up. Alternatively, a cleanser will be provided.
Treatment is not advisable if you have had botox in the last 3 weeks.
Please note that this treatment requires access to the shoulders and upper chest area so you will be required to remove clothing.
